Honitsu + round wind?

Hi guys, I'll probably sound stupid for asking this but my friends asked and me supposedly being the riichi mahjong "expert" among them, I couldn't answer this question so here I go... First of I've established that the yakuhai yaku does not apply to honitsu as it is already included. What I am unsu...

Re: Yakuman Club

lol i can't abuse my position of power.... i always bring with me a guide i kinda made up with all the yaku and stuff in it...I know pretty much all the yaku anyway so the guide is for them... i mainly use it for the scoring when anyone of us wins. While they are not familiar with Riichi rules, they...

Re: Yakuman Club

In that case.... then my hand is invalid then... because i completed my hand after the 4th kan was made (i self picked) >__< so continues the curse with making a hand related to the san gen pai..... So to make it absolutely clear it's is the general accepted rule today (in all if not most places) th...

Re: Yakuman Club

Sweet hand. 8) You have Honrōtō (all terminals & honours) and Honitsu as well, making an epic 19 han in total! So you easily have the 13 required for a counted yakuman, if permitted under your local rules. Wow cool... i didn't see i had those yaku as well.... awesomeness XD Hmm..... why wouldn't a ...

Re: Oya Tenpai and Renchan?

oh right so in the event that it's an exhaustive draw and the oya is not in tenpai then east goes to the next player but the countinuances continue?

Ok that explains it....

Re: Oya Tenpai and Renchan?

thanks Ref, that clears it up somewhat....

i thought the "continuance rounds" would reset to 1 (or nothing) if a player other than the oya wins in a "continuance round"?

Oya Tenpai and Renchan?

Hi guys, got some more questions.... I know that if the the dealer- or oya- is tenpai at the end of a draw round he stays as dealer. what happens to any riichi bets that are placed during that round? Also, is that any different to a renchan? I do know that there are these "bonus rounds"... eg East R...

erm... just what are you trying to say here? I don't quite understand?

Re: About the Pao Rule

my understanding of the Pao rule applies to Rinshan Kaihou- in that if you make a Daiminkan off someone's discard, and win off the supplemental tile that you draw, that person is responsible to pay for the value of the hand you make. I'm naturally assuming that rule applies to any hand that has a Da...

Re:Rinshan Kaihô and the Tsumo Fu

in my personal experience (albeit short) of playing riichi mahjong... the two fu given for tsumo is not given if you win by rinshan kaihou. I tend not to question why it\'s the case, but it would be interesting to know one way or another...

Re:Menzen-kafu and Pinfu

well i don\'t either, so what i do is look at the hand, look at the score the computer gives, and look at the steps to calculate the fu points to figure out how the computer has come to that score.

counting han is easy enough for me should i recognise the yaku...
