Yeah it is, though the 8000 points is usually a fairly weak consolation for whatever hand you could have had if you'd kept them all :P and ya, that is a nice firefox persona... wondering where you got it...

There are some hands that need to be concealed for the yaku, like pinfu. Now, I keep getting mixed results reading things in different rule sets, so I just want it to be clear... If you ron, does the hand still count as concealed? Example from a website: Four Closed Sets (Limit Hand) 5-bam 5-bam 5-b...

This implies that a tile was discarded before you can declare riichi.

To complete a hand you have to fulfill the requirements for at least one yaku.
so, it has to be on that list.
