Re: So... how do you like to play?
To keep things simple, I just run with Tenhou's rules. Yet, it's nice to have the capability to play with modified conditions.

Re: Suu Ankou: Should I Try?
Well, it's not that easy, but that was a really great hand and those draws were quite favorable to you. Early in the hand, you drew the 5-crak , and discarded the 6-dot as opposed to the 2-dot . Next turn, you drew the 3-dot, and discarded the 5-crak as opposed to the 2-dot . It didn't matter, sinc...

Re: Suu Ankou: Should I Try?
Suuankou is too easy; and to poise yourself in the best position for it, yes, you will have to drop the aka 5-man. Just like yours, here's a case of mine, which actually had iipeikou. Naturally, I declined it, until I produced ankou with one of the iipeikou parts. http://tenhou.net/0/?log=2016021914...

Re: Hi! I am a Japanese who loves riichi mahjong!
1, What makes you know mahjong or like it. I can be sitting in 4th place in a tournament game and still smile about it. Even at times when I feel like hating the game, I come back for more. 2, What thing of riichi mahjong do you like? It's a crazy game, where results can happen that defies logic. N...

Re: Differences between real life and online mahjong?
By the time I joined my mahjong club for some real tile action, I played about 300 games in Tenhou. The main transition involves having to deal with the game rules all on your own because the computer doesn't do it for you, especially the wall building. For the early learning stages, online play at ...

Thankfully, we never used these:

Though, I did get to try it once. They were very dumb rules.

Re: to pass up a win?
Oya baiman is effectively a win for the whole game, unless y'manage to screw things up royally. So no, don't pass something like that up, just to get yakuman. === Passing up a win may be necessary, if you have an decent opportunity to do better. I've done it once, passing up agari-pai from kamicha only to hit shimocha immediately afterwards. It felt good.
