Re: Looking for a set

Screenshot_20200918-142918.jpg No, I'm not looking for a set. I have 2 already. A couple of the ladies in my group bought a set via Amazon. I noticed that the 3 bam in their sets was different than the tiles in my sets. It had red in it. This affects the ALL GREEN yakuman in riichi, obviously. I ha...

Re: SegaMJ App releases in English

How are the assists?
I don't know.......because I'm not sure what they are supposed to do.......unless I'm missing something.

Watched that YouTube thing above.
Makes a call out of nowhere and pungs the 1-bams.
Then makes a 567 crak chow.
Can't figure that one out. No yaku. Corny video.

Re: SegaMJ App releases in English

Wow, finally a mahjong app available in the USA and not in some other countries. I played offline a few times and liked the game. However, there are no settings or rules buttons for things you might like to change. It is a simple East round only game with nice graphics and voice animations. php2eQaW...

Re: Mahjong vs the Virus

Understood. We are aware of that. In this area, there have been only 5 positives and not one had to be hospitalized. Based on cases per capita, we feel relatively safe, especially in the indoor/outdoor area where we play. Very different than what's happening in New York. Thanks for your concern. We ...

Mahjong vs the Virus

I was able to keep playing live until March 21st, in Arizona, when the community center was closed.

Re: What rules do you use? 3.0 (2020 edition)

One more question on Agari Yame regarding this piece in Barts Guide, to satisfy my understanding. "Under the optional Agari Yame rule, if the dealer (east) wins the final hand of the match and they are leading on points they can choose whether to play a continuance as usual (and risk losing) or fini...

Re: How to deal when there are 2 winners

there is no other point in the game where the dealer is allowed to pass on their dealership if they are in first place and win a hand........... so why should South 4 be any different ? I believe South 4 is different because it is the hand that satisfies the requirements for a complete japanese mah...

Re: How to deal when there are 2 winners

So my understanding is that the thinking is, it's not fair to the other players to be able to end the game early, just because the last dealer is in front. But is it fair to extend the game just because the last dealer is fortunate enough to win the last hand. That's like penalizing him for winning...

Re: How to deal when there are 2 winners

On browsing the link above regarding riichi rules, provided by Shirluban, I was surprised to see so many X's for Agari Yame. (and for bankruptcy too) I employ both rules in all four of my mahjong groups and the ladies really love it and find it very exciting when it occurs. We had one occasion where...

Re: Tsumo overrides ron in WRC?

Understood. I still don't like the "until the next player discards" part. I would prefer; A late ron is allowed, even after the next player has drawn a tile, if that player has not allowed common sense ample time for the ron to be called. (3-4 seconds, 5 at the most) I've seen video game apps that a...
