Re: Saki-咲 Live Action!!

I was following this with a certain imageboard and the mood swing was massive :D Then again, I wasn't really surprised. It's hard to turn something "unnatural" like Saki into a Live Action. The story is shortened, the OP is meh, the actors don't fit their unrealistic characters (especially Yuki). Th...

Re: "Mahjong Tricks" on Google Play

Just tested it for a minute or so, looks pretty nice, but
- I would use a transparent background for the icon.
- it might be just me, but I find the text hard to read. Maybe it's the font, maybe the bright colours.

Re: Akagi

(seriously, how did Akagi meet his demise) unless I'm misunderstanding what you all mean with "demise"... After the nine year time skip at the end of Ten it is revealed that Akagi has Alzheimers disease, he decides to kill himself in order to preserve his consciousness instead of slowly rotting awa...

Too sad we already know.

I dropped the Live Action Drama somewhere around episode 5, it didn't really hook me up and since I knew what would happen anyway...sticking with the manga.

Discard Backfire

I know this is highly subjective, I just wonder if others know such situations and/or how they think about them. Discard Backfire means that, no matter what you discard, you make the wrong decision. This includes, but is not limited to: - 1379: If you discard 1or 3 you get 2 the next turn (and free ...

Re: Differences between real life and online mahjong?

There is a group of tiles my group calls "turnables". Those are tiles that can be seen upside-down like all Man-tiles, but also the wind-tiles, red-dra 1-bam 3-bam 7-bam and 7-dot. So if you see people rotating their tiles they might have some of them in their hands.

Re: Max Mahjong

Can someone explain me the "safari" tile? I don't get it. It's explained in the paragraph above: For example, "Red dragon (中)", "Green dragon (发)", and "White dragon (白)" in the traditional mahjong tiles embody Chinese people's simple desires for "progress", "getting rich", and "promotion". In our ...

Max Mahjong

So I stumbled over this "Max Mahjong". https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1698069926/max-mahjong The idea behind this thing "a brand-new mahjong game that is customized for American players". Correct. American players ONLY. They only ship to the United States. More detailed, they re-skinned all of...

Very nice, and more fun than gamedesign.jp. It's still rigged as hell, but overall feels more comprehensible.

Re: how did you learn about mahjong?

Oh, that's an uncommon story! A friend of mine used to do parody-Let's Plays of Windows games. The tile matching mahjong was the most popular and he got gifted a lot of those type of mahjong-games on steam and Let's Played them as well. In the description of one of his videos, he put this link . We ...

Re: Overview of current mahjong video-games

Avoid those Mahjong Pretty Girls Battle games at any cost, they aren't worth your money. Just by looking at the screenshots you can tell it is bad, anyway I bought it on discount just to see how bad it is. Pros: - fully functional Riichi Mahjong on Steam - "custom rules" like number of rounds, start...
