Re:how did you learn about mahjong?

Some bozos were fishing for fresh meat with this image on a certain wapanese imageboard 2 years ago, along with a link to one of tenhou private lobbies(see pic) and a link to Arcturus\'s english guide for tenhou.net. Spoiler tag because vulgar language. http://i50.tinypic.com/9rndxs.jpg I\'ve been p...

Re:Crazy Mahjong Lingo...

They certainly are! :silly: I think I´ve allowed enough time for others to post an answer if they wish. I only know a little Japanese but I did at least try to find an answer with a little research. I think "sou no tori des(u)" would mean "he´s the bird of the Bams" but could also be read as "sono ...

Re:Crazy Mahjong Lingo...

Talking about bad puns huh?

I\'m sorry, and I do hope these won\'t need (too much) explaining, although I know these are clearly elitist puns.

Re:Yakuman Club

Ryanpeiko is more rare than a yakuman?
Oh wow!
Well I got one in 3p, and it\'s a kazoe yakuman too, but I don\'t really feel that 3p is real mahjong, so I didn\'t want to brag about this...

Re:Yakuman Club

my mistake...
Whenever someone says pon, I imagine an open triple.
I leaned the game where concealed triples were called ankou(or ankous??? Again I don\'t know the correct plural form...)

Re:Yakuman Club

Woah!
Reaching with the chun while someone else had the haku and hatsu as open pon.
I wouldn\'t dare to even discard that...

Re:Rules & Questioning

Suu ankou can be made with a closed kan. http://www.animationinsider.net/forums/custom/global/additional_smilies/eng101.gif (proof) Question: what about open kan ? Lets say you are in tenpai for suuankou, but saw a suukantsu in your future hand and started to declare open kans from the other players...

Re:Yakuman Club

It\'s Tenhou. 13wait Kokushi, suu ankou tanki, and 9wait Chuuren(?) does not count as double yakuman.

Re:Saki and Riichi?

I can only imagine that way of cheating in a dark room full of smoke and urapros, July. Not in a tournament with cameras installed all around. Hell, even a regular penguin plushy got thoroughly checked out.... Why don\'t you just simply believe in magic? BTW. I must confess, I lol\'d at the sanshoku...

If it was in the main lobby(L0000) you can just alt+f for your name here.

Edit: four players mode only, and a maximum of one month old logs.

Re:Saki and Riichi?

And exactly that is why people like this stuff, Shirluban.

This mahou shoujo mahjong is so unreal, and impossible in real life, it can be any serious player\'s wet dream.

I just simply listed a few things that appeal to people who were previously not interested in mahjong without that wall of text you just demonstrated...
