Yes, Mrs. Gamegrunt knows about my interest in Mr. Kentaro. :silly:

Re:Is a Take is a Take is a Take?
My \"Take\" arrive today! Thanks Jenn!
My wife and I have explored Riichi using these \"compact\" tiles - several hands playing a variant where two dummy players are employed.
More to follow on my impressions of my new mahjong set.

Re:Narrate this scene
So the Two of Bams morphing into the Two of Craks (the Kentaro character actually declares riichi with the crak, not a bam?) thus enabling him to ron on the two bams discarded by One Eye?
Cool.

Re:Mahjong at the movies?
In my first post in this thread, I linked to three YouTube videos. What is the name of the Japanese actor pictured on the right in the first video?
I\'ve got to know...I\'ve developed a bit of a man-crush on this dude.

Re:Is a Take is a Take is a Take?
I went and \"pulled the trigger\" on this, after satisfying myself that there are few ways to obtain a Japanese \"Take\" set without ordering from either of the two e-tailers mentioned in this thread.
I ordered from Mahjongmart.com and look forward to getting the set in a couple of weeks.

Re:Is a Take is a Take is a Take?
Mahjongmart\'s "Take" and Japanese-Mahjong\'s "Take" are the same (AFAIK). It\'s a very good quality tile set. Beware! "Take" means "bamboo", but they are not made in bamboo. (You certainly already spot that from pictures.) For other retailers, I don\'t know. And if you don\'t say me where to check...

More than one online retailer offers Japanese Mahjong sets with the \"Take\" label. Are they all the same?

Re:YMI Black Riichi Set
My friend bought a black set recently and in terms of quality, i find it\'s pretty crap. The tiles look like it was made by some 12 year-old :/ Sorry if i offended anyone\'s black set. There is no question that YMI sets are little more than OK - they make no attempt to meet the quality standards of...
