What would you discard? The 4-bam , 6-bam ,or 5-bam ? Seven pairs on a single wait or double chow on a shanpon wait? Note the dora indicator.

Re: A nice hand, without doing anything!

if you are referring to my original post for a heavenly hand, it came from Wikipedia, "Japanese Mahjong Yaku"
not sure what you mean when you say i quoted a screen grab.

Re: A nice hand, without doing anything!

The one above is mahjonginmame.com under yaku and the
sloperama.com definition is under FAQ #25.
If you google "13 unrelated tiles in mahjong", these are the first two that come up.

Re: A nice hand, without doing anything!

Once again, I got a nice hand without having to do anything but press the tsumo button. No big deal, but it was nice to look at so here it is, this one only worth 32,000 points. The question I have is this: The definition below states that you must be the dealer and that the drawn tile must make a p...

Re: Scoring question

Barticles guide states that in some versions it must include the green dragon while in others its not required.

Re: A nice hand, without doing anything!

Very funny! For reference, it happened in my 7,110th hand on this app, (680th game). Keep trying!

A nice hand, without doing anything!

Well, its not a big deal since it was on a video game, and I didnt have to do anything but press a button to get it, but it was nice to see, so I thought I'd share it. As the dealer, it was worth 48,000 pts.

A question on winning?

Can anyone see why I was not able to declare a win with this hand?
I had a shanpon wait of 8-bam 9-crak but was only able to pung the 9-crak .

Re: WWYD 2013-10-07

A few possibilities here. First off, I would discard 9-crak with toi-toi (all pungs), san anko ( 3 concealed pungs), or seven pairs in sight. Only reason to open the hand would be for toi-toi. Next good tile will determine which way to go. If the chows fill in first, I could end up with riichi/tsumo...

Re: A question on waits?

Stop! Take a breath! I'm afraid you lost me. I didn't realize that the answer to a simple question like; What would you rather go for on riichi, one tile, the 4-dot , of which there are 4 available, or two tiles, 3-dot 7-crak , of which there are 2 each available, could be so complicated. Seems to m...

Re: A question on waits

Didn't realize I made up a fictitious hand where San Ankou would be a possibility.
How about this variation with a riichi situation where no improvement on the wait can be made. Same reasoning?

A question on waits?

3-dot 3-dot 5-dot 6-bam 7-bam 8-bam red-dra red-dra red-dra :east :east :east 7-crak 7-crak Is it better to discard the 3-dot and wait on the 4-dot , IF ALL 4 OF THEM ARE STILL AVAILABLE, or to discard the 5-dot and wait on the 3-dot 7-crak , IF BOTH TILES OF EACH ARE STILL AVAILABLE. Meaning, do yo...

Re: severely in need of an english translation!

These are from the statistics. The first 2 never seem to change no matter what i do so im not sure what they represent. The last 2, i believe, are the # of consecutive wins and the # of dealer renchans, but its the first two symbols in each one, which are identical, that im unsure of. By the way, if...
