Re:East Only Games
(use Shift-JIS) As for playing in East Only games, I used to play on an online program called \"Ton Puu Sou\" (“Œ•—‘‘, East Wind Parlour) a lot. What I like about East Only games is that they end quicker than East-South. For some reason I also feel that East-South takes more than twice as long to fi...

Re:East Only Games
Hi Barticle, (use Shift - JIS encoding?!) Ryan Chahou (“ñ‰Æ˜a) is another term for the Double Ron rule and has the exact same function. Note that the first kanji “ñ is read as the \"Japanized\" reading of another kanji (—¼) which also means 2 in Chinese/Japanese. The jan (雀) of 麻雀 on its own actuall...

Re:Dealer continuances
Nanba No-ten (Yes/No) is the rule to determine whether Dealer repetition occurs in South Round if he is No-ten at the end of a hand. Agari Yame (Yes/No) is the rule to determine whether the Dealer can end the game in All Last (South Round 4th Hand/Kyoku)if he won the hand. Some people who say yes to...

Why isn't Tsumo Pinfu ever set as 2 Fan 30 Fu?!
I think most of you are aware of the option of making a fully concealed hand with Pinfu as either 2 Fan 20 Fu, or forfeit the \"Pinfu\" and make it 1 Fan 30 Fu. I understand that 2 Fan 20 Fu is technically the same value as 1 Fan 40 Fu. But why not just leave it as it is and make it 2 Fan 30 Fu (20 ...

The first thing that came to my mind was translation work, but I imagine you\'re already quite busy... good luck with the ideas though!

Re:Red fives - 3 or 4 or 0?
If I was to own a Japanese set, I\'d like to play with all 4. Very tempted to paint or obtain another 2 red fives (souzu and manzu) so I can have 2 red fives from each suit! (6 total) :P

Re:How much wound this have sucked.....
Double Riichis are very frightening, mainly because you can\'t figure out what sort of hand your opponent is aiming for because he hasn\'t discarded anything else! Kudos on winning this hand anyway. I dunno about you, but I find that many Japanese mahjong programs tend to \"alternate\" the luck for ...

Re:Portable options .... Mahjong Cards?
I have a set of Mhing cards which I bought a while ago. Now that I have a mahjong set, I don\'t use it anymore. In fact I only used it around 5 or 6 times. To put it simply, I\'ll state what I felt to be the pros and cons: Pros: - much lighter and compact than a regular mahjong set - much cheaper as...

Re:Instant Regret!
That happened to me quite often in the past!!! These days I try to discard the tiles which I don\'t want and are less likely to reappear. I do this by looking at the discard pile and see if somebody has already thrown it out...

Re:What set do you prefer?
I bought my set in Taiwan a few years ago while we were touring there. It was a \"small\" solid plastic set with yellow backing which was the closest I could find that resembled the Japanese sets commonly featured in video games etc. Obviously I\'d prefer the actual Japanese sets which predominantly...
