Re: Shin JRM promotion until at 26 March Japan time!

Specifically, this was the post in Japanese from NCSoft:

I believe that you get the additional kaimo later (likely on March 25-26), not immediately when you deposit using BitCash.

Shin Janryumon - goodies that you unlock...

As of this morning, I finally unlocked most of the bonus stuff... If you can chain a good number of goals in a row (and the goals in the late stages of that run are not real easy, unless you are willing to pay 200 game currency to change the goal before you delve into it), that's where the bonus stu...

Shin Janryumon - daily goal...

As you see in the bottom right of this image... http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/5065/jrmss20130228015846.jpg Means new challenge, and if I got the translations somewhat right... "In the next 5 games, win at least 10 hands with a score of mangan or higher" to gain a daily goal plus five stars. Can...

Janryumon kaimo for non-Japan players update!

I think there is now a way to purchase kaimo for Janryumon for those of us outside of Japan. However, I do not believe that non-Japan (at least those from the USA) credit cards will be accepted by the system, since I've tried both of my cards and got the error "this card cannot be used." However, if...

Re: Janryumon's update to Shin JRM as of earlier this week

Actually, yesterday SJRM gave me 500 more ticket units - so I think you will get a refill of tickets, not sure if it is based on how many games you play that previous week or it is a fixed 500 per week.

Re: Janryumon's update to Shin JRM as of earlier this week

Okay, I found out something new - if you get first place (at least in a four player hanchan), you get the tickets that you spent for that game back. Not sure if it applies to every game where tickets are spent. Haven't played against the AIs yet, but it doesn't cost anything to face off against the ...

Janryumon's update to Shin JRM as of earlier this week

Well, this most recent update of Janryumon has a lot of bells and whistles to it, and I think unless I am missing something, has become more of a "pay" service, since there is a new form of currency that looks like to be some form of tickets, and to play in any mahjong game except for AI games, you ...

I just got a new non-yakuman title in Janryumon!

I just got the "星の誕生" title after going ten straight games without getting last place (4th in my case, since I was playing only 4 player games). For those who ask what it means, it means "birth of a star," and I got that with a bang as I won with a oya haneman, causing another player to go tobi and ...

I got myself a true riichi mahjong set!

Earlier this month, I decided to bite the bullet and actually purchase a true riichi mahjong set from a site that actually has sets made in Japan... I bought the Shou Suu Shii set, and because the set weighs some 3.5 kilograms, I paid a ton for shipping for that set, directly from Japan... 69785_101...

I dealt into a yakuman and still won the game!

Last night on Janryumon, in one of the games, I wound up dealing into a ko kokushi musou to the player to my right which knocked me to 4th at the time, but not out (to 7100). I got all of it back and then some, and I managed to survive a tsumo ko baiman by the player to my left, winning by just 300 ...

Has anyone ever tried playing an actual "full game" lately?

What I mean by "full game" is that the game continues into West and North rounds, obviously ending early if tobi is ari and someone goes bankrupt before the North 4 round. The old Mahjong book from about 1964 (yes, Whitney's) describes a full game covering all four wind rounds, but in the 20 years s...
