Re:Dutch Red 5 Tournament
I don\'t know about tournaments and stuff but have you ever considered using chess game clocks for speeding up things? I haven\'t seen something like this with Mahjong but it is widely used in other mind sports.

Kokushi Musou - rob a con. kan
Can Kokushi Musou be achieved by robbing a concealed kan?
I\'ve seen this mentioned on some pages containing Riichi rules. If yes, is it the only hand where you can rob a concealed kan for finishing?

Re:Two quick/random questions (kanji and wait types)
Hey Barticle, thanks a lot for taking the time and illustrating the wait types here on this site. This will really help any beginners (like me!) One Karma point for you!

Re:Two quick/random questions (kanji and wait types)
Thanks for the link b4k4ni04. I did some more research and found this site. Its main topic is Riichi Mahjong as played on an arcade emulator (MAME). But it has a nice page containing the different names for different waits and is also illustrated which is a big plus (at least for me B) ) http://mahj...

Re:Two quick/random questions (kanji and wait types)
Sorry for reactivating such an old thread, but this was the only post I could find concerning my problem. I would like to know if there is a list with the names of different types of waits and some examples which show the current hand and the needed tiles. If somebody has a link or some more informa...

Re:My New Take Set - Initial Impressions
B)
What I would like to see at the shop sites description of the sets is the weight of a single tile. Since these have different weights which is also an indicator of \"value\" of a set to me. It\'s like with Poker Chips. The feeling of their weight does add a nice attribute to the game.

Re:My New Take Set - Initial Impressions
By the way, what\'s your favourite colour for backs of Mahjong tiles?
I have a set that\'s all white. Sometimes I feel that this is not the best colour in case of counting tiles (how many are left?).
I would be interested in your impressions!
