Re:Combinatorics Table Posted
If you like you can give me few examples, but I still doubt it will be of any use (atleast for me).

Re:Combinatorics Table Posted
In the end, these numbers are useless, since you can\'t compute these in your head, or put them to any real use.

Re:Dealer continuance & 5 sticks
In EMA-rules you are required to reveal all the four tiles, no idea how japanese do it. But I think stuff like \"false riichi\" and \"fake kan\" only tend to occur in anime and manga, and will not help in a real game of mahjong.

Re:Dealer continuance & 5 sticks
I you reach and pass upon a tile the only thing that happens is that you become furiten for that tile till your next draw (after that you can still ron-on it). And yes it\'s still considered tenpai, almost every situation where you are 1 away from win (ii shanten) is considered tenpai even if there...

Re:Why isn't this Suu an Kou?
When declaring ron, the set which needed the last tile is considered open. With double pair wait, you can only self draw su anko, otherwise it only will be toitoi+san anko.

Re:What would you Discard
2-dots is the most reasonable option in my eyes here. I will not bother explaining, figure it out yourselves :)

Re:Discard Technique
I tend to flip my tiles vertically with a thumb while the tile is held between index and ring finger rather than flipping it sideways like shown in the video :P

Re:If you want something done...
I think game mechanics should be the first wall to climb, then graphics and tweaking. As long as there is a working mahjong game at the base, you can start adding variables of rules, tile sets etc. Keep up the good work :)

Re:The Ultimate Mahjong Table?
I think company named \"Alban\" sells the same tables by the name NINJA B4 (which sounds way awesome). The table costs around 600 000 yen, which really is out of anyones price range, atleast from mine. You can accomplish faster game with those tables, but I think it also takes the fun part of throwi...

Re:The Best 3 Player Rules Set
I haven\'t played any other 3 player variation than the one tenhou.net uses, simply just removing every character tile except 1s and 9s, and there is no north seat, and north tiles can be declared \"as flowers\" for bonus points(1 han per declared north). I have no clue about scoring though, I think...

Re:So, you have a 4 and 30 (pre-reach) hand. Reach?
I agree with Shirluban, the fear element of reach is bound to stop people. In tournament play, I would reach, probably not in a home game, since you have to use every chance you get for points in tournaments.

Re:unwinable riichi
even when someone has made a kan of 5-bam and 8-bam , and your hand is ready waiting with 6-bam 7-bam, you are considered tenpai.
If those kans for example are made after your riichi, it would be stupid for your ready valid hand to magically turn into chombo without possibility of winning.

Re:If you choose not to reach, should you still ron?
Completely depending on the situation, but I usually dont let a win pass. If you have one yaku already but you can make it more, I usually tend to wait until my winner comes up, or I can change the hand into a more profitable one. example: when having 3-bam 4-bam 5-bam 3-crak 4-crak 4-crak 5-crak 6-...

Re:3-player riichi question
yes, \"declaring dora\" means putting north tiles to the side to act as doras, it interrupts the go-around, you can\'t get ippatsu, you can\'t get renhou/chiho, and you can\'t declare 9 tile abortive draw if someone has declared dora. PS. You can also win on an opponents dora declare, so it\'s kind ...

Re:My New Take Set - Initial Impressions
If playing with sticks, I use the betting chips for dealer continuance counters. Really nice set, except the first time the other red five of dots was clacked on the table, the \"diamond\" fell out, had to glue it back in :P
