Re: So... how do you like to play?
I used the wrong word there. A tanki wait is 2 fu. A guest wind pair is 0 fu. A dragon or paying wind pair is 2 fu. A double wind pair is 4 fu. A double wind tanki agari is therefore a total of 6 fu. Man, counting fu is hard.

So... how do you like to play?
Hi there. I saw the link in Shirluban's sig comparing different rulesets, and I thought about doing this. I know that for many around here they play mostly online / computer game / app and thus you have to adapt, but if one could teach new players the rules (and you're only concerned about the play-...

Re: Shiisan Pūtā (Thirteen Unrelated Tiles)
And you say you had the pair in hand? Good for you.
I don't recognize this yakuman (based on my "no easy escapes / no rewards for a bad hand" principle), so I can't help you much. (That's why I dislike most abortive draws too).

Re: Where do I draw from the dead wall after calling kan?
You draw from the end that is farther away from the live wall, ie, the one closest to the dora indicator. When you replace a tile from the live wall (Players are used to it and they don't physically move tiles around, but it's a good thing as you are learning) you have to add the bottom tile (the la...

Re: severely in need of an english translation!
Not Kodomo. Hmm, that reminds me that I haven't seen season 2... You mean Saki Achiga-hen, right? It's a spinoff series with 16 episodes full of story and less mahjong until you hit 8th or 10th episode... I liked it. The designs and color are closer to the manga than the first season. Did you see S...

Re: Yakuman Club Revisited
Everyone is paying you, therefore tsumo. Wouldn't have called riichi, especially with two already called, I wouldn't want to risk a quadruple riichi. About 9-terminals, I never call a tie out of principle. I think this rule doesn't belong in this game. It's discriminating a certain hand over others ...

For the second picture:
- Renchan condition: TENPAI / win
- Agari Yame YES / no
- Ryanhan Shibari YES / no
- Kuikae yes / NO
- Furuoppun on / OFF
I'm not sure what the last one is.

Re: Rinshan Kaihô and the Tsumo Fu
I'm under the impression that you would get the 2 fu only after an ankan, or a chain that is started with an ankan. But I don't know, it seems to be yet another "Roll-your-own-rules" point. When Koromo (not a Kodomo) discards 1p and Saki goes Kan! Kan! Kan! Tsumo! Koromo pays for the full hand. (In ...

Re: another mahjong book
Well, yes. The thing is that any hand with six or more han gets another rank that supersedes mangan, but you are guaranteed to be over 2000 points. 6 han pinfu: 20 * 2 ^ (6+2) = 20 * 256 = 5120 = 5200. (Also with 5 hand you would get 2600, which is over the limit). If you use a chart to settle score...

So close to a rare yakuman (best hands possible), though. Shame you discarded that and the earlier.
