Re:Making Mahjong Card Game
Have you looked at the card set sold from Reach\'s shop mahjongmart.com (currently out of stock but I expect that stock will appear again soon)
contents: 139 Mahjong Cards (including 3 red 5s, one of each suit), 1 Wareme card, 4 Yakitori Cards, 4 Card Holders, 2 Card Cases, Full set of paper scoring sticks and Mahjong explanation in Japanese
Unlike some other mahjong cards that are normal poker size ... these are half size making a rally portable set (at the expense of being problematic in a light wind.

Or just shrink the kanji a little?Barticle wrote:Your red dragon looks good, although the kanji does look a lot like a dagger sticking into the poor dragon´s head!
Perhaps move the dragon down a little to centre it (the kanji means "centre" so he should be well centred!) and make the white border on the kanji a little thicker so it stands out better?
And, yeah, "center" ougth to be centred.
For 1 bam, I belive it\'s supposed to be a peacock. But all sets don\'t show a peacock.
Cats don't do タンヤオ (tan-yao) but タニャーオ (ta-nya-o).

Absolutely. In fact, seing the card game got me the idea. But since I\'m a customization freak, and have the knowledge and the tools, I like the idea of creating. :) thanks for flagging though, will give them as gifts if I come to buy them :DHave you looked at the card set sold from Reach\'s shop mahjongmart.com (currently out of stock but I expect that stock will appear again soon)
Point taken, will change some stuff.Your red dragon looks good, although the kanji does look a lot like a dagger sticking into the poor dragon´s head!
And a peacock it is. And 7 coins card to show you guys when I make the card as well :D

Re:Making Mahjong Card Game
Nice coin image, but I wonder if it would look better in the natural metallic colour (bronze?) especially where the traditional tile designs have two or three different colours...?

Re:Making Mahjong Card Game
What do you mean, leaving the 1 coin natural (yes it\'s bronze / copper coloured) and then the others with mixed colours?
I only made it blue due to the fact that I\'ve always seen coin 2 and coin 3 of the same colour as one.
I\'ll investigate the possibility :)
Not totally happy with the peacock, but I cant find a better pick.

Re:Making Mahjong Card Game
Of course you´ll need to try it out, but I wondered if all the Coins cards might look better in bronze.
I just thought the blue colour looked a little odd on the coin image.
How about using a photo of a green origami peacock? Would make an interesting Japanese twist.

I\'m back!
And I\'m restarting where I left. Pretty messy house changes and stuff. :)
But I\'m getting there into a routine. :)
Cheers

Re: Making Mahjong Card Game
Hi Guys
It seems that not only my ancient user name is down for good (didn't manage to reset a password here for some reason),
and the posts there are not populating here, I'm starting my user stuff from scratch.
And yes, I am trying to understand how am I going to proceed with the card making, since the MtG card maker I had
was totally destroyed and I don't think there is a way to get it back.
Cheers

Re: Making Mahjong Card Game
Hi Luis, welcome back (once again!). Good to see you back on the forum.
Sorry to hear about your lost data, but at least this thread is preserved.
You wouldn't need any special software for making cards - you could even make a simple template with a table in a word processor. You could probably download a new card maker package though if you wanted?
