I am looking for Sugata Sanshiro (1965) movie, directed by Seiichiro Uchikawa, and it seems it\'s a tough one to find. So, I think to myself, if it\'s available at all, it must be available in Japan. Since I don\'t know Japanese, could I ask some kind soul to check whether the movie is still sold out there? Is there any chance of buying a copy with english subtitles?
Big thanks in advance ;)

\"Sugata Sanshiro (1943) directed by Akira Kurosawa\" is still available in France with French subtitles.
It\'s released by Arte (www.arte-tv.com) under the name \"La Légende du Grand Judo\".
It\'s probably available with German subtitles, considering Arte is a Franco-german company.
They have released \"Zoku Sugata Sanjiro (1945)\" too, like some other Kurosawa\'s film.

I don\'t know for the remake \"Sugata Sanshiro (1965) directed by Seiichiro Uchikawa, product by Akira Kurosawa\", nor for English subtitles.

You should contact Arte, they may have more info.
Try BFI (www.bfi.org.uk/video) too.

I don\'t think I can do really more for you, unless you want more names of companies who have released Kurosawa films.
