Neither Riichi Copenhagen Open, nor Kinryu Majan Taikai in the Netherlands are having much success with subscribers from abroad this year, with only two foreigners having signed up for each.

Is there something we can do better in order to attract you guys?

Last year we had a lot of foreigners playing in Copenhagen. The main difference from last year is that we play over two days, instead of having a strategy seminar on Sunday.

Is it just arbitrarily so that no-one can make it this year, for whatever reasons, or are riichi players more unwilling to travel to play than MCR players?

Or have we simply made too little promotion?

I appreciate any advice that can make our tournaments more attractive.

Personally I'm just busy on the dates available. I can fly to Copenhagen pretty cheaply (about £50 return), but there's not much I can do about it if I have prior engagements (university classes).

I also never really considered going to many of the abroad tournaments, mostly because I had other things happening over the summer, but also because I wasn't sure if I was really willing to fly out to tournaments. I'll definitely consider it a bit more next year though.

I had considered coming, but my current work is too brainf**kig so I'd avoid the whole fly&hotel search process.
Plus, I would go to chairman election of my "rollespil" club, with is at the exact same date.

Sorry, maybe next year.
