Australian Riichi Mahjong Open announced!

For all my fellow Australians (or any nearby internationals who might be interested), the first Australian Riichi Open has been announced for later this year! It will also be doubling as a WRC Qualifer event for those who might be interested in that as well. The ARMO will run over two days, 7th and 8th of December at Kensington Town Hall. More details can be found on the website:

Great to see a new major national event. Will you be involved in any capacity?
That would be a long way for me, even if I lived in the other Ipswich near Brisbane!
Still I am getting involved by reading "ARMO" in an Australian accent.

I'll probably only be attending as a participant. Most of the work has been done by the head of the Melbourne Meetup Group and the folks from ARMA over in Sydney. Though I've been a secret proofreader of some of the documents

Yes, it seemed to fit. I only just realized it's probably the similarity to "arvo".

Heh despite not having a strong Aussie accent myself, that's how I've been pronouncing it, so you're not wrong
