Got really lucky and was able to test the Haku Pocchi option in this game. Was playing the room of the "Midori" character and became tenpai, waiting on the 2-dot or the 5-dot . Called riichi and was able to tsumo on the special white-dra.
This room has a fixed ruleset which uses only one of the white-dra with the Red dot. Note the other three white-dra in the discards.

Good work, Steve. Nice to see this rule in action - thanks for sharing.

Perhaps, as I suggested, the wildcard effect only works when you draw the special tile on your next turn immediately after reaching.

Unsure why it didn't work for Dave though... maybe an opponent's call (pon/chii) invalidated both ippatsu and the wildcard effect?

Mission Accomplished: The final door has been unlocked
As expected, it led to the rooms of the last two characters.
"Eizo" uses two haku pocchi white dragons and only two red fives, both dots and you must win all 3 matches for an A. "Sotaro" disallows the bankruptcy rule and kan ura dora, which is odd, since he allows kan dora and ura dora, and you must score at least 120 pts over 3 matches for the A. Playing in these 10 different character rooms and experiencing different combinations of the various optional rules and victory conditions has helped improve my strategy. A great app for 99 cents!

Here's a quick pic of the same rule option applied in Mahjong Haoh: Dankyuu Battle 3.

Immediately after accepting the tsumo win the game asks you which tile you want as your wildcard.

There are three related rule options:

haku pocchi - off / 1 / 2 / 4 tiles
conditions - tsumo after riichi / tsumo ippatsu only
bonus chips - off / 1 / 2 / 4 chips

Nice to see you are enjoying the various rulesets in this app. I am curious how you are doing this since you mentioned in the other thread that you were also getting that white screen. Are you on Apple IOS, or a different android device operating system. If so, which one?
