EDIT: Okay apparently this is the 2nd time Garthe has played in a televised match, at least according to Tsuchiya, so.

itwould be nice if they would show mahjong games like this on TV in the states, texas hold \'em games are kind of boring after awhile.

That is pretty much the best mahjong video in history I\'m sure.

By the way, gotta defend the commentator Kojima Takeo (Sensei). There was a comment about him needing a tissue and the Japanese comments on the side were complaining about it too making jokes like he was eating ramen or something while doing the show. Anyway, I forget which it is but I think he has emphysema or something like that which is what makes his voice so gravelly and causes so much coughing. He\'s also a really cool guy and despite having done pretty much everything there was to do in Mahjong in his day and thus having earned the right to sit back on his laurels, he still does what he can to help us \"young\" kids get better like coming to study sessions and comment on our games. He is a Doyle Brunson of Mahjong and deserves as much respect as anyone in the Mahjong world.

And he likes the way I play Mahjong and if THAT doesn\'t make someone an authority on Mahjong, nothing will.
