Mini Chinese Mah Jong with 4 Racks, 2 Mahjong Spares, 2 Dices and 1 Banker Button Travel Ver.

One day I decided to purchase a Mahjong and went window shopping online. I was anxious to purchase this set on Amazon the moment I laid eyes on it. It comes with the following items:

1. 144 Mahjong Tiles, which consist of the following:
a. Bamboo Suit – 4 sets of numbers 1 thru 9 (36 tiles)
b. Characters Suit – 4 sets of numbers 1 thru 9 (36 tiles)
c. Circle Suit – 4 sets of numbers 1 thru 9 (36 tiles)
d. Dragons – 4 sets of Red, White, and Green (12 tiles)
e. Four Winds – 4 sets of East, South, West, and North 1 thru 9 (16 tiles)
f. Seasons – Labeled 1 through 4 in red Chinese numbers: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter (4 tiles)
g. Flowers – Labeled 1 through 4 in black Arabic numbers: Plum, Orchid, Chrysanthemum, and Bamboo (4 tiles)
h. Blanks – (2 tiles)

2. 4 L Bars/racks to hold the tiles (Brown colored). Each can hold 18 tiles and can be used as a pusher. One has a sticker (I believe this is labeled specifically to identify the dealer).

3. 2 Dices

4. 1 Banker button - Basically this is a 6 sided dice. Each side contains a Chinese symbol: East, West, North, South, Red Dragon, and Green Dragon. I believed this can be used as the Prevailing Wind marker (I just need to find a holder for it, LOL).

Cons: Funky chemical or plastic smell (Same smell as my Spanish Playing Card Deck when I got them new as well). Paint Job on some of the tiles is a bit smeared.

Overall I give this Product an excellent rating. The benefits outweigh the cons in my eyes. Also the set was relatively cheap too ($17.00 USD). I just wished the red fives could be included as well

These miniature sets are cute. I believe the tiny tiles have a tendency to roll/flip when you're shuffling them? Not too much of a problem in a casual game though. They're also good if you want to make keyrings or jewellery!

Of course for Chinese mahjong the wind marker needs to show all four winds. Sometimes a set will include a small plastic or wooden block with a hole to hold the wind dice but I think the dice should sit happily on the table anyway.

Hopefully we have someone here who can read Chinese. Where's Gemma or Poochy when you need them?! The two characters in the top-right corner of the packaging say "mahjong". I found the two preceding characters in an online dictionary and evidently they can be read together phonetically as "mini".

I love the way it says "chonking hazard" instead of "choking hazard"!
