I pretty like this hand as it is now.
Considering the score, I'm more worried about preventing other to come back, than getting points from this hand.
We can become tenpai on chitoi or open the hand with fanpai, the wait will not be great but 9sou don't help much anyway.

I see no reason to take apart your chance for seven pairs (by discarding 3m) just to add a triplet to this hand. Having a triplet of 9b won't buy you much unless you can manage two more closed triplets, which seems unlikely and doesn't pay more han than seven pairs anyways. Additionally, a seven pairs hand leaves you a path for tenpai if you later draw the dora and aren't comfortable discarding it.
Personally, I like that this hand is likely to end up waiting on 7b with an early discard of 4b. Very devious. With regards to discarding from the hand or the draw, I don't see how it matters.
