3-dot
I don't need so much pairs, and I'd like to keep the half flush option open.

(Of course, it would vary greatly depending on which tiles are already gone, the score, ...)

3-dot. Same as Shirluban. You have a potential Hon'itsu or 3, 4, 5 Sanshoku Dôjun. Maybe also Hatsu. And 2 Red Dora.

It didn't work out unfortunately but thanks anyway.

That was what I ended up with on the first hand of a game on the 4th turn, discards weren't very relevant. Tried for sanshoku but it didn't turn out and I got ron'd with a trash hand anyway.

Would it make sense to discard green-dra ? You could have two red dora, tanyao, maybe closed sanshoku.

If the two other green-dra where already discarded, I'll definitively discard green-dra .
In this case, the dragon pair could not be improved and would forbids tanyao.

But if they are still in play, yakuhai is worth just as much as tanyao and is more flexible (use only one set VS the whole hand).

By discarding green-dra instead of 3-dot you're moving away from tenpai, so it should provide some compensation.
Here, I don't see much improvement.

Obvious 6-bam . The 5-way wait may look cute, but it's a 5-way pair wait. The hand already has two possible pairs. There's no need to not take the best iishanten and keep both hatsu aka2 and sanshoku aka2 available.
