Hi All,

Those of you who went to Hanover, Germany, in 2008 for the mahjong tournament will have met Ian Fraser and Peter Langford. I think their team came 4th overall...

Anyway, they enjoyed it so much that they are now organizing \"what is believed to be the first Japanese Riichi Mahjong Tournament ever to be staged in the UK\".

It will take place on August 22nd, 2009, at the Guildford Golf Club in Surrey, England.

What better excuse do you need to head over to Blighty for those long summer evenings, warm bitter in \"real\" beer gardens, cricket on the green, and 10 days quarantine in case of swine flu on your return to Japan!!??

For more details check:

Cheers,

David H

Calling all UK players .... Need to get a Riichi set on the cheap?

They are not as good quality as Hiros or Jens sets but if you are on a tight budget and want a cheap set then take a look at http://www.witzigs.co.uk are the only UK supplier of Riichi sets in the UK. You will get them a lot quicker, no import duty, and it may convince them to continue stocking (if you do buy then dont forget to mention you are buying it because it is a riichi set).

Witzigs in Norfolk stocked them by mistake not realising they are Riichi sets thinking they were regular chinese sets.

They cost £ 24.99 plus shipping
