Hello to everyone on ReachMahjong.com! (first post!)
Just wanted to share a response from AOTOMO that I received when I e-mailed them about their automatic tables.
The Short Version: While cheap, IMHO, for an automatic table, the AOTOMO tables only come with the large Hong Kong tiles (i.e. no red fives).
Anyone know any manufacturers of automatic tables that support/come with Japanese sets, including the red fives?

I know, I know, I\'m bumping an old topic, but I digress.
I\'m also interested in an automatic table which also has a Japanese set, I looked at your site, Tom, but I didn\'t become any wiser, sadly.
Only other thing that I also require is that they ship to the EU, as well.

It seems I was too quick to judge, or perhaps I was just expecting an English manufacturer? This does help a lot, thanks. Even though the 2nd link 404\'s for me, the first one works and helps more than enough.
Thanks again.

OK, I\'ll fix that link. You can go to
http://www.udom.co.jp/ and explore, maybe they even still sell tables!
And you can also try
BURT TANAKA
Work: (415) 566-6751
Fax: (415) 566-5211
Other: (415) 298-6751
E-Mail: tanakaburt[AT]hotmail.com

Don\'t know if he\'s still trying to sell Japanese tables in North America for sure (this is also in the FAQ).

Question:
When I played at that parlor in Shinjuku recently, the tables they had were awesome.
Not only did they deal the walls, but each player starts with their hands ready dealt as well- so no time is wasted drawing haipai from the wall.
The icing on the cake was that even the dora indicator comes ready-flipped and the wall correctly broken.
Nothing to do but start playing!
How common are these? I\'ve seen a lot of tables which deal only the unbroken walls. Are the funky tables a lot more expensive and harder to come by?

Oh come on, how realistic are the expectations of some people in here ?
Comparing a table that costs in the hundreds with a table in the 6 thousand US$ range is unreal.
I know a guy who knows a guy, (no names), who has an Aotomo table. It works just like you\'d expect a machine to (Shove tiles in the hole, other sets pops, first set gets shuffled in about 60-90 seconds. I\'ll have to ask exactly how long). If you\'re dead-set on having red fives, find a Warhsmmer hobbyshop and paint them in. If you are that serious about it, it\'s not like you\'ll need spare regular fives.
He did give a heads-up on how importing is a nightmare unless you\'re prepared for it. Still, it was worth every effort, once.

I know, right? Had NO idea those things were so expensive!!!
I guess the main market for them is real gamblers who want to get through as many games as possible in the fastest possible time.

Well.
That one is - it\'s got features that go WAY beyond the norm. They are normally 50% to 25% the cost of that one (and the Chinese models are even cheaper).

i was watching
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iW0Lt-jhF5c&NR=1
found there tiles pretty big.
my question is: are this standard Japanese set(they play whit red five)
or are they playing whit Hongkong set(whit red five added)?
Another question,do you know where to found this type of set?\'I\'m french, and only find cheap set , or Chinese set where i live.
sorry to post here, but I\'m thinking they\'re playing whit automatic table.
thank you very much.
