Would you have played a different hand?

Post by LiveLifeFree » Thu Oct 15, 2009 4:33 am

So... out of pure luck of the tiles just dropping my direction I ended up with this. Given the discards you see... would you have done anything different? I understand MJ is made up of a good amount of luck... But I\'d like to learn how to create my own luck. In this round a tiny voice inside me simply said... \"What if?\" and I went for it.

Thanks in advance. Image

Sorry, I can\'t answer to you question.
The way I would have played this hand depend on the initial dealed tiles and the current score.

Since it\'s not write which discarded tile come from your hand and which ones are just draw-discarded, I can\'t rewind the game thru your starting hand.

Let\'s suppose your staring hand include these 3-crak, 4-dot, 7-bam and 4-bam you discarded, and don\'t have more than 4 pairs. In this case I would probably not go for seven pairs, but I may switch for it as the games goes on.
If your stating hand have 5 pairs instead, It\'s likely I go for seven pairs but maybe with other discards.

I agree with Shirluban.

However, just based on your picture, i would not have reached unless i was very far behind.

You could still win big with the seven pairs dora-2 without needing to reach.

Having said that, you were the dealer which is generally the best time to take risks.

Thanks for the Feedback. I\'ve always wondered when would be a good time to be bold and when would be a good time to just relax and buy time.

mmm next time I have a scenario I\'ll post a before and after pic.
