Another tough break

Post by BoyaSonny » Sat Jan 01, 2011 3:41 am

Was down in the dumps on janryumon and was at like 1800 points near the last round, and I pulled off a baiman as dealer which is 24,000 points :p

and thanks to the ippatsu and the fact my winning tile was a red five, I barely got to second place with 32,000 points. Sucks I can never get a picture for these lucky times(too shocked at my win)

I don't really see the point in this thread...

But if we're showing off, I have a video where I pull two dealer-baiman in a row in a game at janryuumon (from minute 8:00 and on):

Total of 80k points.

On more recent semi-related news, I broke at a great score in a tokujou table with with medium-ranked but kinda high-rated players today:

Yes, this thread is about showing off and getting through tough times. I want to see others's experiences and how they got through them.

You might want to say so in your original post... You see, we aren't psychic.

I have a gyakuten gallery with quite a few come-back pictures, and a lot of stories that come with them, but it really lacks any merit without an intellectual discussion about it, so... how about you? Ellaborate. "I was down in the lows and won a baiman" is hardly discussion worthy. What was the point situation? What choices did you have to take? Do you even remember the composition of the hand? Why did you go down so much in points in the first place?

I mean, I too was down in the lows and won a kokushi a few times. But only saying "I was last and suddenly I wasn't" is hardly a contribution...

It sucks that I never get a picture for these things and can't remember the composition of my hand but trying to remember I think I had a decent amount of dora tiles in my hand plus the fact my winning tile was a red 5. Simply put, my hands didn't materialize and I suck at reading waits(I try hard to win before reading waits gets serious) so I dealt in a lot and got all the way down to 1800 points lol. In the last hand I had, it was amazing, everything was coming together makes me wanna cry that I couldn't get a screenshot. My hand materalized and came to a 3 way wait and right after I riichi'd, the guy after me deals a winning tile and happened to be a red 5 and bam. Dealer baiman.
