There is a promotion at Janryumon which started within the last 24 hours and will run until June 28...

It's some "marksman" type promotion, where you try to get certain fu/han combinations, with prizes for hitting certain milestones... I don't know all of it, as the entire page is in Japanese...

Or if you live outside Asia. I assume plaync still have the region-locking that blocks major ISP's in Europe and America so you need to use a VPN.

Actually I am using an USA-based Internet provider and I can still access the site, provided that it doesn't assign me one particular IP range (it assigns me three different ones, as far as I know).

I play Janryuumon regularly, from Argentina (South America). No problems.

I was using this excellent guide for reference, plus my own personal experience that I can't even load the homepage (in Chrome or IE8).

It's strange.
At home I can't go to the home page (neither with IE or Firefox, on XP) and the site didn't even reply to ping requests.
At work it works fine (with Firefox on Ubuntu).

Can someone who actually has access to that page who knows the full details of the promotion please translate it, since I have an idea of some of them using the not so perfect Google Translator service...

Apparently there is a 29th mark which needs to be hit as a non-dealer, with the 28 marks being
1 han hand with 30 fu and 40 fu
2 han hand with 20 fu, 25 fu, 30 fu and 40 fu
3 han hand with 20 fu, 25 fu, 30 fu and 40 fu
4 han hand with 20 fu, 25 fu, 30 fu and 40 fu
while both being dealer and non-dealer.

There are prizes for hitting 100,000 points in the promotion, hitting 5 of the marks, hitting 20 of the marks and hitting all of the marks.

Apparently, prizes change (or enhanced) once the total points of all eligible hands of all the players involved hit 2 thousand million or more (2,000,000,000) points.

Any hands which have 5 han or more OR have 50 fu or more are not counted towards the totals needed. Also, custom games, 3-player games and games vs the CPU will not count either.

Prizes for those who hit the milestones will be distributed on July 12, apparently.

So far, I am 18/29 and have hit 300,000+ points.

I normally like winning lots of prizes and items in Janryumon, but this event I refrained from joining mainly because the rewards suck. D:
