Well, shame on me for not posting this here earlier.

Well, we have an online mahjong league happening right now, as of Nov. 1st -- and it will end on Dec. 31. Happy New Year's.
Details on the league can be found here:

Basically, play games via Tenhou.net. More particularly, in the 7447 lobby at your own leisure.

If there is anyone unable to navigate Tenhou.net, feel free to refer to this guide. Although, I don't expect many here to have issues with that. But just in case:

Feel free to start now, if interested. There's plenty of time left, until the turn of the year. Good luck.

Re: World Amateur Mahjong League
Thanks for posting this, Kyuu. I'm a little intimidated by a league but Tenhou is my bread-and-butter so I will strongly consider joining. If not this cycle, perhaps the next (sounds like a new cycle kicks in Jan-Feb, 2013?).

Re: World Amateur Mahjong League
Future cycles will use previous rankings as seeds. As with other league structures, you will not be able to jump more than one tier per session generally.
Getting on the map at 20 games is better than not playing until the new year. You're welcome to do either, but it's in the player's interest to want to rise and advance as soon as possible.
