I guess that if you don't play the minimum per month, it resets.
Explains why my 21 games in August got wiped out.
Hate starting all over again but I'll give it 1 more month.

Maybe there is something important in this.

I notice there are a lot of players with the same name.
Is that "anonymous"??

Yes, it is.

Interesting to see 27k starting scores after I mentioned that option here just last weekend.

名 means "name" and 無し is Nashi which means "without" and is often used to indicate a disallowed rule option.

The other image has Nashi mostly given in Hiragana characters instead (なし).

Seems a bit unfair the fact you can only play, and win, one game, and you'll be on top.

True, if only for a month, until it resets. Maybe that's why they don't sign in with a name and choose to remain "anonymous".
By the way, were you able to translate that 1st picture?

That's the fixed rule in the tournament mode but in the free mode, you have the option of 6 different starting points, a few of which I wasn't even aware of.

The first pic shows the rules for this month's Monthly Meeting, such as the starting and ending dates and times...

Conditions:

Left side:

COM level 2, 27,000 starting points with a minimum of 30,000, atozuke, ippatsu, dora and ura-dora, agari-yame, noten oya-nagare, no local yaku...

Right side:

Tonpuu-sen with Nan-nyuu (if no minimum points are met at the end of east round, south will start), kuitan, kuikae, atamahane, kan-dora and kan-ura-dora, no ryanhanshibari, no tobi (you can be below zero), and no uma due your ending position.

Need a little help here.
At the start of the game, (players start at 25000), pressing the rectangular button at the top depicts this.

After the 1st hand, a mangan ron win, it changes to this.

After the 2nd hand, a 2000 pt loss, it changes again.
phpgeJQSvAM.jpg

I have tried but am at a loss to figure out what these numbers and the writing underneath are all about. They seem unrelated to the game score and don't seem to affect anything, but change after every hand.
Can anyone help?

That button is labelled "1st-place requirement". When you're not in 1st place it shows what you need to take the lead. When you are in 1st it shows the lowest value Ron win ("direct hit" off you) which each opponent needs to take 1st place (and which therefore you need to avoid in order to retain your lead).

At the start of the match you (south) are technically in 2nd place and the game shows the hand wins you need to take 1st. Since the scores are initially tied, all you require is a Ron win for the minimum possible 1000 pts off any player or a Tsumo win with the minimum possible 300/500-pts payments (1100 pts total).

In the other two pictures (after you've taken 1st) the dark boxes show the least Ron wins scored off you that each player would need to steal your lead.

I'm not sure why it says Tsumo "1500 all" (or higher) for you in the second pic since the least you could score by dealer Tsumo (to maintain your lead) is 500 all (1500 pts total).

Been experimenting with the game to test the mathematics.
Could use a bit more help.
When you are in 1st it shows the lowest value Ron win ("direct hit" off you) which each opponent needs to take 1st place
This seems to work as described.
When you're not in 1st place it shows what you need to take the lead.
Still having some trouble with this.

I have 31600 in 2nd place. The leader has 36600.
A direct hit of 2400 will still leave me 200 short.

The other 2 players have 23200 and 6500 respectively.
Neither of these 2 will overtake me with a direct hit of 3500, especially the latter.

Not sure what the 2000 in the box by the leader represents.

Example #2
How would we explain this one?
(A direct hit of 8000 would give me the lead.)
And the other numbers???

When you're not 1st the dark boxes show the smallest Ron win you'd need to score off each individual opponent in order for you to take 1st. It only shows the wins they need to overtake you when you're 1st. It's always about you either gaining or retaining 1st place.

The brown box always shows a Tsumo win and the numbers are (presented as) the payments rather than the total. When you're east it shows the payment that all three opponents pay, e.g. "2400 オール" is literally "2400 all" - all three losers pay 2400 each so you get 7200 pts in total.

You need fewer points when Ronning the player in 1st (compared to the others) because their score drops as well as yours rising. I'm assuming the payments include Honba points (since some values don't match the scoring tables) and any leftover Riichi sticks are factored on top. Potentially that Tsumo win would just be 2400 total plus 2 x 1000.

In the second pic you need over 12,000 pts to overtake 1st place's score - since you're east and the numbers are big enough for limits to apply you need an 18k dealer Haneman off the players in 3rd or 4th. Alternatively a 6800-pts Ron win off 1st instead would be enough for you to take their position.

The Tsumo score in the brown box shows "9600 all" but actually you only need 9600 total (3200 all) to go 1st: 25000 + (3200 x 3) = 34600 and 37000 - 3200 = 33800

Thanks Bart. That cleared it up. Everything relative to 1st place.
I also failed to consider the extras, honba and riichi sticks. Got it now. Math works.
Thanks again for your time and explanation. It is appreciated.

Wow! Over a year has gone by without needing a translation.
This has been showing up on my tablet the last few days.
Has to do with an app. (17 days?, 4 times?, monthly meeting?)
Thanks for any help.

月例会終了まで残り17日
17 days left until the end of the Monthly Meeting.

規定回数まで残り4回

There are 4 times up to the stipulated number of times. (Too literal.)

I'd go with: You can play up to 4 times more (today/this week or this month).

Then you'll reach the limit. (I don't play the game, so this limit might be per day, week, or per month.)

Glad to see this thread being useful again. :)
