"Red" North Wind tiles...

Post by Goldeneye » Wed Oct 19, 2016 3:24 pm

I wonder if there are such :north tiles in real life that are red like those red fives, since I know that at least one version/variant of the Sega MJ5R mahjong video game does use such red north wind tiles in at least one variant of the 3 player game, since there would otherwise be only one or two red tiles (5-pin) in a 3 player game.

Everything's possible.

That's the first time I heard of a red North, but I've already heard about red/golden 3 and 7 (and golden 1pin I think).
Also, "regular" 10 sou, 10 pin and 10 man.
Cats don't do タンヤオ (tan-yao) but タニャーオ (ta-nya-o).

Green fives too.

The only pics I could find of red norths were all on sega-mj.com but Wikipedia does mention both red norths and gold norths as optional rules.
