Re:WWYD 4/18
I would throw the 5sou tile, it leaves the most choices for making different kind of hands, such as sanshoku, tanyao, and possibly pinfu as well. I am waiting for 7man and 6sou and then either 2man or 5man but if that becomes harder or if there are better tiles then I will use the other ones instead if I happen to get them.

Re:WWYD 4/18
i say 5sou as well
Re:WWYD 4/18
Greetings all. New to the boards and I\'ll figure I\'ll try my hand here.
It certainly looks like the potential hand here is sanshokudoujun.
The 6man or 5sou would most likely be the safe bet. One of the 8sou could go as well. Keep everything between 2 and 8 to score tanyao as well.

Don\'t really know and I think these are really the hardest for me but one thing is for sure and that is I would keep the 5s over many other tiles which are, 3s 8s 8m and 6m. From these I\'ll pick either 3s 8s and it finally falls on the 8s since it\'s harder to connect than the 3s and I don\'t really need all the pairs. =)

Re:WWYD 4/18
Depends on the discard piles. I\'m inclined towards 3s unless the sanshoku or some other possibility looks likely, or if the other players appear to have slow or bad hands. I feel like 3s might have the best balance of safety and options.
EDIT: saw Yttrasil\'s post and indeed the 8s is even better.

8-bam
I think all is already said.
Possible options are 3sou, 5sou, 8sou and 6man.
We don\'t need so much pairs and I think 335 and 668 to be more flexible than 788.
Anyway, if I get 7888 here I wouldn\'t use it as a 888 pon but as an open wait for 678 and a pair (and I\'ve no use of more pairs).

Cats don't do タンヤオ (tan-yao) but タニャーオ (ta-nya-o).

8-bam
Number tiles closer to the ends are weaker tiles to keep than those closer to the middle. I don\'t think I need to add anything to what\'s already been said apart from that.

Re:WWYD 4/18
my initial reaction was also 5 of bamboos but on closer inspection I think 8 bamboos is the answer. The main reason is the fact that the only useful tiles we lose by throwing it is the other 2 8\'s of bamboos whereas we gain 4 4\'s of bamboos. Another reason is that anyone who is watching closely enough will notice the 5 come out our hand followed by the 8 and immediately think the 69 wait is suspicious. Throwing the 8 first helps disguise the fact that we\'re waiting for high bamboos and thus make it a little easier for it to come out later if we haven\'t drawn it yet.
