Well, it certainly became a Yakuman hand in the original GB Yakuman - so it was almost certainly recognized as one by 1989.Torgo wrote:And yet, MCR does recognize the hand. A nod to the Japanese, perhaps?Goldeneye wrote:All Green/Ryuu Iisou is pretty much a standard Yakuman in Riichi Mahjong these days.
In the past (about the 1960s-1970s) or so, it was seen as an "Americanized" hand - and not even Chinese mahjong recognized it then I think.

Do you guys only aim for yakuman or what? w
Re: Yakuman Club
Yes, this thread is all about Yakuman hands...
That said, here is my Suu Ankou, my first yakuman for 2012 - would have been nice had it came exactly a week earlier:

Re: Yakuman Club
I meant because of the amount, posted always by the same players. Feels like I haven't got a yakuman in months, and it gets harder every time to aim for them instead of going for a realistic win to improve the average placing efficiently.
Last one I had was a RL kokushi musou a few weeks back. And I only aimed for it because my shimocha was incredibly high up in points and it was the only way to pull him down (on top of that, it was his dealer turn), AND because I started with 10 different tiles. With 9 tiles I just systematically reset the hand. That pulled him down and busted out the player in front of me who had also declared riichi the turn before, ending the game. Lucky, I guess.

Double Yakuman for the win. I was playing to cruddy eariler in the game, such that I was looking to climb a way out of 4th.
Re: Yakuman Club
Imagine if your set of haku were an ankou of haku instead of a minkou.
But then, Tenhou will only count Suu Ankou Tanki as single yakuman so you'd only get Triple Yakuman instead of Quadruple Yakuman. But 144,000 in a single hand is still something to write home about.

Got two more yakuman last month, both of the dai san gen type - one being a pao.

Managed to score a dealer tsuu iisou yesterday, but I forgot to screencap it - I was too surprised to see it happen, I guess. It's been more than half a year since my last yakuman, so this was definitely more than welcome.

Re: Yakuman Club
Couple weeks ago. I pulled a Ryu Iiso. Without any Hatsu ('cause I was chasing Chinitsu earlier).
Unfortunately, I cannot furnish a picture at this time. But I have witnesses. Either way, my first with live tiles. Glad to have gotten that out of the way.

Re: Yakuman Club
Hey guys, this is my first post. Welcome myself! Here's my first yakuman:
If you look at the discards you can see that I could've won off the 3 man on the turn before but I passed and went for the big one. Thankfully the riichi on my left probably made the guy on my right bail his ton.
