I was bound to get a starting hand with ten of them eventually.

Too bad y'didn't hit the Kamicha (left player)... then it'd be some true irony.

I'd probably would have discarded 2p in round five (as leftie) and hope for a 5p for a menpin tamenchan, but then again, what do I know?

All that would accomplish is losing the pair of dora. Also, drawing the 5pin has the same chance as winning by tsumo, so there's no point to delay riichi even if the dora wasn't there.

I'd been meaning to bump this thread. New users/players can use it to relate tales of when/how they joined the "Yakuman Club" by making their first top limit hand.
Other yakuman-based adventures also welcome.

Last night, I just made the toughest yakuman in the game, Suu Kan Tsu on JRM - I will be posting youtube video and screen caps this coming weekend.

Oh, no. You didn't hurt Kana!!
Also, four chakan, with many prepared yaku that ended up not mattering because, you know, yakuman. Nice.

It looks like it would be worth a lot in no-limit!

Suu kantsu 13
Toitoi 2
Shou san gen 2
Yakupai 1+1
Honitsu 2
Honroutou 2
--------------
23 han
winning 20
pair wait 2
kan 4x16
pair of dragon 2
----------------
88 fu
Base value = 90 x 2^(2+23) = 3019898880
The score for non-east ron is base value x4 = 12,079,595,520
So,
12,079,595,600 points it is.
Not bad.
