I have been watching the series here:

http://kissasian.com/Drama/Akagi

Good quality, no registering, no commercials, and free.

The thing is... Is it legal? If not I'll stick with Crunchyroll.

I try to watch as much as I can legally.

I guess I left that out. 100% legal. A regular website with tons of shows, actor biographies, and viewer comments. This is the drama side of kissanime.com where I watched all the Saki animes.

I agree. I really enjoy it because its, well... mahjong. But the whole thing just kind of has this 'student project' or 'fan-made' feel to it. Compare to the live-action adaptation of Death Note, which comes across as a prime-time professional production. Either way... I still count the days for the next episode.

Legality isn't determined by "ability to access in HTTP". Given what you showed as a list of available titles, I am even more convinced that this is yet another pirate site. Apparently, the internet has silenced that site for a good 10-15 days, because video hosting is incredibly easy to acquire when legal and incredibly hard when not. The difference is that a stream-oriented site will aim at the website rather than the end user as the copyright infringer. It's not "less illegal" though in any way, shape or form.

I have to quote this guy... it shows how irrational the standard KA user is.

By clicking on any Links to videos while surfing on KissAsian you watch content hosted on third parties and KissAsian cant take the responsibility for any content hosted on other sites.

We do not upload any videos nor do we know who and where videos are coming from.
In other terms: KissAsian have no idea if their content is legal or not, and they don't care.
The argument being videos are streamed from thirdparties websites, so it's thirdparties' problem.

So like some other websites they´re merely a nexus and way to group videos for an easy seach...

Right now I´m wondering what Crunchyroll gives to their translators as a reward. Reading about it, the translators seem to be just fans, in fact some of their starting shows had a "below average translation". Their quality improved, yes, but they don´t reach professional quality.

Also if you release a show in just an hour, well, maybe the translation is not so good. What if you made mistakes? In a few shows I´ve seen fails. And I´m not talking about the big fail that is to write the -kun, -chan, and other honorifics in an engllish translation. Doing so it´s a fail, as english speaker has not such honorifics in their language.

I've watched a couple of episodes now and I agree it feels a little amateur, although it's a worthy effort.

I feel like I miss too many things from the manga - like Akagi's chin and Washizu's deranged grin. Much easier to capture in anime than live-action of course, however they could've cast bigger/older guys as the henchmen. I also miss the music and voices of the anime. They got Yasuoka's jacket right at least. :)

I'm glad that it still has a strong focus on the gameplay, with graphics illustrating the hands and permutations. However the translations need more explanations of terminology to make it more accessible and it would be better if the East round wasn't given as North on the overlays!

That's good to know - it's on Crunchyroll too and I loved the anime.

Just watched episode 9 of Akagi. Between reading the subtitles and looking at the hands, I always have to rewind a few times to understand how the discards they make relate to what is in their hands or what I think is in their hands. Sometimes it drives me crazy. This was one of those times.
Washizu is thinking
I discard the 9 of characters for a pinfu tenpai with a 1,4, of circles wait
Sounded good to me. I do that occasionally. His hand looked like this. I saw it clearly for a second or two.
4-crak 5-crak 6-crak 2-dot 3-dot 5-dot 5-dot 4-bam 5-bam 6-bam 7-bam 8-bam 9-bam 9-bam
He's thinking again
This 9 characters is no problem at all
and he's correct.
Akagi's hand, part of it anyway, is green-dra green-dra :back 7-bam 6-dot 7-dot 8-dot.

He has no use for a 9 of characters.......and then he calls RON. What? Wait a minute! What's going on here? How did he do that?
His opaque tile was an 8 of bamboo. What just happened? REWIND! REWIND!

It turns out that both times Washizu referred to the 9 of characters, he was actually referring to the 9 of bamboo.
Most likely a translation error. I didn't pick up on it since I'm concentrating more on fast reading than fast looking.
Thrills and Chills! I guess you had to be there. Maybe you were.
Really enjoying this series. Can't wait to see how it turns out. Only 1 more episode to go.

Final Episode (#10) Recap: (Spoiler Alert!!)

6th game, South 1-2
Akagi East, Washizu desperately trying to unseat him. He calls riichi and must discard a 2-crack which Akagi rons for his 4th direct hit. More Blood from Washizu!

South 1-3
Akagi calls riichi. Brazen move! If he deals in to Washizu, he dies.
Washizu in same predicament. Having 4 possibilities for tenpai, he calls a tenacious riichi but is worried about what to discard.
He chooses the tile that won't kill him if he deals in. Akagi rons!! No ura dora. More blood loss for Washizu but the game continues.
Pissed off, Washizu vows to kill Akagi and gives him the finger!

South 1-4
Still arrogant as ever, and tenpai early with a great hand, Washizu calls riichi again, a double riichi!
Suzuki deals into his hand and he wins. Double riichi, ippatsu, chiitoitsu, four dora. Baiman!!

South 2
Akagi dealer no longer. Washizu again calls riichi and in a tense game, finally manages a tsumo. With ura dora, a haneman.
After extracting the blood, Akagi drops dead on the table.
The scene shifts to the cemetery. "You put up a good fight, Akagi", says Ogi, but then we see that he still has his arm.
A stir from the mahjong table. Akagi lives!! He is motivated for the final battle.

Post-credits scene:
Akagi is slowly walking away from the house. He turns around, looks back, and continues on. The screen fades.....

Commentary:
Ogi places a red-stained tile (which looks like dried blood) on the grave. Akagi had picked it up off the table. Akagi had won.
That was the proof of the finale of this epic battle. The blood of Washizu.
But how did Akagi eventually meet his end......and was it mahjong related?

Too sad we already know.

I dropped the Live Action Drama somewhere around episode 5, it didn't really hook me up and since I knew what would happen anyway...sticking with the manga.
