Idol Janshi Suchie Pai 3 Remix Tips (Draft)

Post by tomahawk » Tue Sep 06, 2011 4:05 am

First of, I want to thank Barticle for taking the time to translate Japanese games for us.

I've recently took interest in Mahjong gaming. I found some games. One title I found that had no guide but was very cool is Idol Janshi Suchie Pai 3 Remix. I played it and did some research online:

Mahjong in MAME's Idol Janshi Suchie Pai 2 guide:
http://www.mahjonginmame.com/games_47pie2.htm

Idol Janshi Suchie-Pai Museum
http://www.changevworld.com/suchie/Pai_ ... ix_NDS.htm

Baud Attitude's blog
http://baudattitude.com/2008/04/28/curs ... ging-girl/

Barticle's Gamefaqs guides

and tried my best to come up with my 1st translation/walkthrough of this game. I did my best and there are more things that need clarification and verification on the validity. But all in all, most of the info is here. I would like to introduce:

Idol Janshi Suchie-Pai III Remix for DS

MAIN/TITLE MENU SCREEN:

1.Arcade Mode
2.Freeplay (Battle against all opponents from Arcade mode and from the previous Suchie Pai Title)
3.Options

ARCADE MODE OPPONENTS:

1.Mai Amano (Pie Waitress) – After you declare Reach, She Throws a pie. On the Battle screen: a bat demon appears next to opponents concealed tiles and the tiles turn purple and show skulls (temporarily).
2.Yuki Mizuno (Schoolgirl)-Throws a circular object (yoyo?) - Dont know if its to get winning piece in Reach
3.Milky Pai (½ Rabbit, ½ Playboy Bunny)- When declaring a Kong, she exposes a Dora tile that matches Kong. (Like Idol Janshi Suchie-Pai 3)
4.Seira Souzu (Nun)-After you win, she sends out a phoenix to change the Pon tiles to match the exposed dora tile indicator
5.Chiruru Saotome (Little Evil-Looking Girl w/ Cobra) – When you win doubles your overall score
6.Nanami Saotome (Final Boss w/ Bad Ending. Woman w/ Cyber piece below left eye)
7.Suchie Pai MK II (Final boss w/ True ending. Suchie Pai look-a-like with purple eyes, white head w/ green tips and forehead jewel)- She has powers as well: 1. Shes able to lock your special abilities (HELPER, SYOUKAN, FIRE, and STICK), as a result, she locks hers as well. She does his in the begging of the round, and last until the end of that round. 2. Shes able to convert her Kongs into Dora. 3. After going into Riichi, she surrounds the stick with a energy (I dont know what this does).

****NOTE: Opponents 1-5 can be used as Helpers (Whoever you choose to battle first, and after you beat them they'll be your partner for the remainder, until you Quit or Beat the Arcade mode)

OPTIONS SCREEN:

A. Page 1:

1.BGM-Music Volume
2.VOICE- Characters Voice volume
3.SE- Sound Effects
****Im guessing the where you change 2000, 3000, or 4000- I believe that is the starting off points in Arcade Mode. The first 2 options I dont know what they are (Maybe the 1st option is game difficulty)**********

B. Page 2:

1.Red Characters: Opponents pictures in Swimsuits
2.Blue Characters: Game music files
3.Green Characters: (I am not sure what this one is for)

ARCADE MODE BATTLE SCREEN:

A. Top Screen- Opponent on top. Bottom right corner: Suchie Pai and, if applicable, Helper, Bottom Left Corner: First Segment-Opponent's Name & Points, Second Segment-Suchie Pai's name and your points, Last Segment- (Syoukan, Fire, Helper, Stick) Those are the Special Powerups and how many you have in possession (I believe 9 is the max)

B. Bottom Screen: Opponent's Tiles, Dora Tiles (10), 2 Scoring Sticks (1 red dot and 8 black dots-Not sure for what this is for), Wind Indicator Square (Your Seat), Wind Marker for current round (long rectangular), Your tiles

C. Options Menu: 1. Automatic Mode (Yes or no), 2. ?????, 3. Draw tile (Auto or Manual), 4. ?????, 5. Music (Yes or No), 6. Voice (Yes or No), 7. Sound Effects (Yes or No). What is the next screen?

PANEL MATCH SCREEN: The Object of of this is to match two identical boxes (labeled Alphabetically) almost like the game Memory. In the beginning, two squares will be exposed. If you match (or clear) all squares, you will win the match automatically.

A. Top Screen: 1. (Top Section) Your Opponent wearing a bikini. 2. (Bottom left corner box) ????. 3. 4. (Middle small box with numbers) That is the number of tries you have to match two squares before returning to the Mahjong match. 5. (Long Horizontal Rectangle w/ Japanese Letters) ???? - Maybe the announcement of the prize won at matching the two squares. 6. (Bottom, Middle small box with a circle) That will hold the current medallion piece you find. Fill it with 2 medallion halves so it can be transferred to the rectangle on the right. 7. (Bottom, Long rectangle with 5 circles) This will hold all the full medallions held on the square on the left. Get all five medallions before prior to beating Nanami Saotomi to face the true final boss.

B. Bottom Screen: 16 Squares/boxes. Two will be exposed while the rest are concealed. Concealed are labeled from letter A through N.

C. Prizes:

1.Medallion Half- Looks like a shiny golden half moon. There maybe either 2 or 4 pieces per each Panel Match Screen (which can total 1 or 2 full medallion). Half medallions stored in the single circle square on the top screen can carry over to the next panel match visit for this opponent or the next. (For example: I collect half a medallion while battling Milky Pai then I beat her, when I face Seira the medallion half will still be in the circle). NOTE: If you complete a full medallion, on the next mahjong round, a medallion will slowly travel across your tiles before they are turned over (I dont know if this is to bless the pieces. Usually after they are turned over, they are good tiles, but not good to go out right away.)
2.Syoukan- This square contains a fat “S” , then an arrow pointing to a question mark. Below the fat is looks like an energy circle. This powerup can also be obtained by pressing YES on the continue screen. What this does is it allows you to choose which tiles to get rid of before the match begins (You will be always be prompted at the begging of the match. Choice to use it is optional). You highlight all the unwanted tiles by pressing the button A on each of them. Once you highlight all the unwanted tiles then you press B. This will convert all those tiles into other random tiles. (To see how many Syoukan powerups you have in possesion, look at the top screen in the Mahjong Battle screen, right below your points-under SYOUKAN. You can carry up to 9 maximum)
3.Suchie Eye- This square looks like Suchie's Eye. What this does is it allows you to see your opponent's concealed tiles, for the remainder of the round. This you can hold up to 1 max in your possession and it gets used up automatically (by obligation) on the next round at the beginning.
4.Helper- This square looks like two hands shaking (one of them is Suchie's). What this does is it allows you to utilize your partner's (1st opponent beaten) superpower. You can carry 9 of these max (see the top screen below your points for the number in possession-Under HELPER). You will be prompted at the appropriate time (Can be optionally used) if you want to use your partner's special power.
5.Random Square- This looks like a white box with a question mark that has red lines behind it and a banner popping out from inside. What this square does it turns into another random box (not including the medallion half or itself). In addition it will turn into two other squares not normally available: a. Square with a Question mark-Temporarily exposes concealled all the concealed squares. b. Explosion symbol with black background-Destroys all the square and you win the round (Good for winning against tough opponents, Bad if you're trying to collect the medallions). c. Square with 6 shapes within it-This rearranges all the concealed squares on the screen (Items behind them still remain the same)
6.Fire Sekkan – This looks like a white magic wand (might be a riichi stick) with flames coming out of it, destroying a concrete block (or mahjong tile). This prevents your opponent going out on your discard. (Can hold 9 max-see the top screen below your points under FIRE. Will be used automatically by obligation and is not optional)
7.Suchie Stick – This looks like a hand wearing a white glove (Suchie's) holding a chopstick (or Riichi stick). When it can be used- First you place a riichi stick on the table, then when its your next turn, you will be prompted (Choice is optional). If you choose to use it, the next tile will be generated to complete your set. (Can hold up to 9 max. Inventory listed below your score, under STICK).

FREEPLAY MODE: You play against all the characters in this game as well as the characters from Idol Janshi Suchie Pai 2. Sakurai Miyuri (Little girl holding a penguin doll) is a hidden character and I dont know how to unlock her. In freeplay mode you are not allowed to use powerups or helpers. There is also no Panel match screens after winning a round. You also must beat opponent by bringing their points down to zero. Usually you and your opponent start off with the same amount of points.

PLEASE COMMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:D

After sending a PM for help with this game (Along with screenshots) to Barticle, he was kind enough to reply with help :P :

OPTIONS SCREEN:

A. Page 1:

1. Nanido = Level of difficulty (3 OPTIONS: Easy, Normal, or Hard)
2. Auto Tsumo = “Tsumo can mean either the tile you draw from the wall each turn or a win on a self-drawn tile, so try changing it and see what happens” -Based on my experiment, what this does is auto draw a tile from the wall. On the Battle Screen's Option Menu it toggles yes on option 3 & 4 (Arcade and Freeplay Mode). (2 OPTIONS: YES or NO)
3. Mochiten = your allocated points (3 OPTIONS: 2000, 3000, or 4000) – These are the points you start off in Arcade Mode
4. Music volume = [9 OPTIONS: Volume from level 0 (Mute) to 9 (Loud)]
5. Voice volume = [9 OPTIONS: Volume from level 0 (Mute) to 9 (Loud)]
6. Sound effects volume = [9 OPTIONS: Volume from level 0 (Mute) to 9 (Loud)]

B. Page 2:

1. Photo Album = Opponents pictures in Swimsuits
2. Sound test = Game music Tracks
3. Save-data deletion = (blue = yes, red = no)

ARCADE MODE BATTLE SCREEN:

A. Bottom Screen: The scoring sticks (Left of your Seat Wind Indicator Square, above the current round marker [long rectangular]) represent real sticks on the table acting as counters.

1. The white stick with one dot is a riichi stick - the counter shows how many riichi sticks are on the table. This might only show ones left over from previous hands that ended in draws or it might include ones from the current hand (I believe the former is the correct answer).
2.The white stick with eight dots shows the Honba count - the number of previous consecutive hands that ended in a draw or dealer win. A bonus of 300 points multiplied by this number is added to the value of each win. The counter resets if a non-dealer wins.

B. Battle Screen (Arcade and Freeplay) Options Menu:

Page 1- System Options Menu:

1. Daiuchi or autopilot (Allows your character to play automatically, with some exceptions) – on/off
2. Riichi declaration - auto/manual
3. Tsumo – auto/manual. (Draw a tile from the wall either automatically or manually)
4. Tsumo after Riichi - auto/manual
5. In-game music - on/off
6. In-game voices - on/off
7. In-game FX - on/off

Page 2- Lists the following rule options (Not able to edit them in this screen):

1. Kuitan
2. Atozuke
3. Pinfu Tsumo
4. Ippatsu
5. Mangan Kiriage
6. Dobon
7. Renchan conditions
8. Dora
9. Cheating

(rules 1-8 are all explained in Barticle's Japanese Mahjong Guide PDF)

Hello again! Welcome to the site - it's always great to have users providing detailed and helpful content like this, so thanks too.

I'm happy to have been able to help and I'm always interested in taking a look at games I've not yet had a chance to play.
