While the dates have not been officially announced, the 2009 World Series Of Mahjong will be happening and the one thing that we can say for sure is that ReachMahjong.com will be there!

In 2008 ReachMahjong.com introduced the inaugural Riichi Event at the World Series of Mahjong at the Wynn. The numbers were small, but this event was the first step in high-stakes Riichi Mahjong tournaments. The richest Mahjong tournament in the world, the WSOM, was the perfect platform to introduce this tournament and it was also the first step in making the event a true series.

In addition to the Main Event and others, the Riichi Event will be on the schedule again this year and the entry fee will be $8000 HKD. The event will once again be sponsored by ReachMahjong.com and your favorite pro’s will be playing in the event. RM.com starts qualifiers this month with the ReachMahjong.com Cups in Tokyo. RM.com will also be announcing other ways to qualify throughout the months leading up to the WSOM.
