It\'s hard to know what to do unless you post dora, seat/round, and how many points everyone has. In regards to the first hand, I think no one has mentioned that it\'s a suuankou (4 concealed pongs) isshanten (1 away from tenpai). If you\'re in last place and its the last round, then discarding red 5m and hoping to draw to a pair is definitely the only thing to do.
Under normal circumstances, I\'d discard the red 5m and win on anything, but if I drew to any of the pairs I\'d definitely riichi for the yakuman assuming the situation was right.
Hey, what would you discard?

Re:Hey, what would you discard?
I would go for 4 an ko (I think I said that before) because I really really want to win with that hand ;)
Re:Hey, what would you discard?
The best would be to say tsumo.chalwa wrote:I had recently similar problem. I had:
2-dot 3-dot 4-dot 6-bam 6-bam 6-bam 7-bam 7-bam 8-bam 8-bam 9-bam white-dra white-dra white-dra
I don\'t renember dora, but I think it was none of those.
So what would be best to discard here?
Cats don't do タンヤオ (tan-yao) but タニャーオ (ta-nya-o).

If it helps ... from the full zoomed picturedeJENNerate wrote:actually, has the player to your right discarded 5-crak ? it looks like it, but it\'s hard to tell. i would be worried about discarding stuff to him at this point too.
player on right has discarded:
5-crak 6-crak 7-crak 8-crak 9-crak
6-bam 9-bam
2-dot, 8-dot
red-dra green-dra green-dra :south
Opposite player:
2-dot 7-dot 9-dot

2-bam 4-bam 6-bam 7-bam
1-crak and what looks almost certainly a 7-crak
:west :west :north
Left player:
1-bam 1-bam 9-bam
1-crak 2-crak 7-crak 9-crak 9-crak
red-dra red-dra :north :north :south
Which I think would leave me ditching the 4-crak
