I play Reach on PS2/PS3 games and there´s one rule I haven´t been able to fully figure out yet.
When the last hand of the final round ends in a Dealer win or a draw the game comes to an end instead of having an extra hand as usual. If any riichi stakes are left on the table they are paid to the winner as part of the uma.
Occasionally (when I´m East in the final hand and in first place?) if I win the final hand I´m given the option to either end the game or continue with an extra hand as normal.
Is this a standard rule and, if so, what´s the formal definition of it?
East has option to quit after winning final hand?

Re:East has option to quit after winning final hand?
It\'s an optional rule.
If East player wins the last hand of the last round, he can choose if the game still goes on (new hand) or stops imediatly.
It\'s usefull when this player is in first place : he can win the game by winning the hand.
If this option is not allowed (like in EMA rules), the player have to lose the hand in order to make the game stop, and then win the game (if he is still leading).

Cats don't do タンヤオ (tan-yao) but タニャーオ (ta-nya-o).

Re:East has option to quit after winning final hand?
Thank you Shirluban, that´s helpful. :)
I think I´ll play a few more test cases to see how the game applies the rule - I assume that a computer player that wins the last hand as East will usually quit if they´re in the lead or otherwise continue.
Knowing my luck/skill I´d get ronned on a Haneman!
Thanks again.

That\'s tacticly interesting - having to "lose the battle to win the war"!Shirluban wrote:If this option is not allowed (like in EMA rules), the player have to lose the hand in order to make the game stop, and then win the game (if he is still leading).
