Jenn's Book
Hi Jenn,
I\'ve just been reading your article, #31 about lack of sleep...
What is your book about? Mahjong? Life in Japan? Both? Neither?
Do tell!

Re:Jenn's Book
hi hiro,
thanks for asking!
it\'s all about reach (riichi) mahjong!
it will be the first piece of literature only about the riichi version of the game. it\'s finally done with the edits and it should be coming out before the end of the year. i\'ve been working on it for about 2 years so far (1 year of writing, then finding a publisher and editing) so it\'s a huge relief to have so much of it done!
by the way i think i\'m gonna take a road trip in the next couple months. i know i\'ve been saying THAT for 2 years too, but i would love to stop by hiroshima for a few games. i\'ll let you know the plans

Re:Jenn's Book
Hi Jenn,
Look forward to seeing the book on Amazon so I can post plug it on my websites! And, of course, buy a copy and read it!!
I have no plans to leave Hiroshima on holiday before August, so if you come, I\'ll be here. Friday night for three-player mahjong and a look around the Nagarekawa if that is your cup of tea... and I\'ll try and arrange some four-player games too - if you come!
I also want to head up to Tokyo some time... and have been saying that for a while too.

Re:Jenn's Book
An article about Jenn located here, says
Edit: I should also add that the article was written by a user of these boards, and is a fairly interesting read.
So it will be in English.Additionally, she’s finishing up a book on mahjong in English, the first publication of its kind.

Re:Jenn's Book
I take it you have a publisher then.
If you haven\'t and would like to self publish
1. I\'d recommend lulu.com (which will also list on amazon.com for free...they also do ISBN packages as well. They are reasonably cheap to publish in both paperback and hardback. The best thing about them is that they do not charge a several hundred dollar setup fee) and you can set how much you would like to make on each book.
2. If you decide to go that direction and want some help just let me know. I also proofread (which I\'d do for free to get a good book on Riichi in english out there!)

Well, it\'s July already. Are you any closer to hitting the road and coming to Hiroshima?

Re:Jenn's Book
Hi Guys!
It took me waaaaaay to long to find time to publish on here.
The book is all edited and sent off (yes, I do have a publisher) and it will be ready before summer is out!!
I\'ll make sure to post all of the details here.
Now that the site is getting all organized and I\'m all caught up after Fairy finished, I\'ll be posting on here much more, so look forward to dog pictures! haha. I\'ll try to write about Mahjong too.
Hiro, I\'m on my way! September at the latest!

Just pre-ordered on Amazon. Not sure if that is the quickest way to get it but I was happy to see it already available. Gave an expected release date of Sept 1.

Re:Jenn's Book
Just found it on amazon.com
( http://www.amazon.com/Reach-Mahjong-Jen ... 93539634X/ )
...but will it be coming to amazon.co.uk too?
Of course I´ll pay the transatlantic shipping if I have to, but would rather not. ;)
