Mahjong cat cartoons
Here´s a full (?) set of those MJ cat cartoons - for Chalwa. :)
I´m afraid I can´t credit the artist as I don´t know who he/she is (I just found them through Google image search). Does anyone know?
I could attempt to translate 2-6 but it would be a slow job. Can anyone more fluent in Japanese help?

Thanks anyway Barticle, it was nice.
(that´s a sweet hand but an invalid declaration of \"chii-toitsu!\" with those duplicate pairs, or is that the point...?)

Cool cats! But what about copyright issues? Posting those pics without permission of the artist... I don\'t know.

Re:Mahjong cat cartoons
As I said at the top, I´d like to credit the artist if at all possible. Equally I´d remove them if requested.
They´re in the public domain though - I found them across several websites - and I´m not using them for personal profit.
Would just like fellow MJ/cat lovers to enjoy them. :)

Re:Mahjong cat cartoons
Beeing already on public websites didn\'t mean it\'s in public domain.
There is no copyright notice visible, so it should be ok.
(Assuming nobody remove them before Barticle finds it  )
Of course, if the author shows up and request to remove these files, it will be removed.
...And he/she will be congratulated for his work too :)

Cats don't do タンヤオ (tan-yao) but タニャーオ (ta-nya-o).

#6, If it\'s funny, that\'s the point XD.
Rough translations of 2-6:
2)Determining Dora; tile-splosion.
3)You can call another\'s Discard to claim it; Nya~
4)By calling a discarded tile, you receive it; Omn nom nom.
5)First, Let\'s remember tile types/suits. (Wants a Bamboo); Discards the 1s thinking it\'s not.
6)By making sets of two you get the Yaku Chii-toi-tsu; Cat Declares his awesome 7-pairs when it really has a Dai-San-Gen, Tsuu-ii-sou, (all lesser yaku don\'t matter ^^;.)
Oh, I just realized why Chii-toi is called niko; (wait dammit, kanji doesnt display T__T) or <two pieces> the sets of two can be referred to as niko (by Kanji it is: the #2 + the kanji for counting small objects. Also the ko in kojin <individual>...)

Thanks Barticle! Thats really cute XD maybe we should post all other kawaii nad kakkoi mahjong images in this thread (I will post some soon, just dont have time atm). If there are no copyright marks on pics it\'s ok, as long as author will now ask to remove it from forum, so imho we dont have to worry.
Re:Mahjong cat cartoons
A bird walks into a bar, orders a martini and starts drinking when the bartender says, \"We don\'t get many birds in here.\"
The bird answers, \" And with all these cat cartoons there\'s little wonder why!\"

Eric, thanks so much for this! :)b4k4ni04 wrote:Rough translations of 2-6:
That´s a neat little rhyming mnemonic you got there!By making sets of two
you get the Yaku Chii-toi-tsu;
Our feline friend´s hand has a lot of potential but he still has to drop the spare dragons and make a fourth set to go out...Cat Declares his awesome 7-pairs when it really has a Dai-San-Gen, Tsuu-ii-sou, (all lesser yaku don\'t matter ^^;.)
I think it might´ve worked better if he had a complete yakuman - like pairs of all seven different honours - but just called it chii-toitsu.
Makes sense. Hopefully we´ll be able to show kanji soon, and for now at least we can see it in the cartoon (after the "2" at the start).the sets of two can be referred to as niko (by Kanji it is: the #2 + the kanji for counting small objects.
