To mark the release of my recent batch of mahjong guides I'm running another little competition.
Once again the prizes are mahjong books. First prize is Eleanor Noss Whitney's 1964 classic A Mah Jong Handbook with its 70-page section on strategy and extensive glossary of English and Japanese mahjong terminology. Second prize is Teach Yourself: Mahjong from 2001 by David Pritchard (ex-library stock so it comes with a plastic jacket and Dewey code on the spine!).
Not only that, but you also receive an exclusive, limited edition, hand-crafted, thirteen-sided Kokushi wait bookmark.

(erm... the wait has 13 sides, the bookmark has two!)

The rules are pretty simple and similar to last time. To enter the competition just login and reply to this thread picking one of the 34 unique mahjong tiles using the "smilies" on the right of the message compose screen.
I'll keep the competition open for a couple of weeks, after which time I will pick tiles at random from one of my sets until I get two matches - first match gets first prize, second gets second. To make it simpler this time I will keep drawing tiles until I get exact matches.
The competition is open to all forum members - old and new; regulars, irregulars and lurkers. Books will be mailed free of charge, worldwide.
Good luck!
