RM.com site - problems reports

I'm currently updating the forum to the last PHPBB version, and for that I need to turn-off extensions, like the recent topics on the main page, and the custom style.

I will reinstall extensions later, if they're compatibles.
The style don't seem do work on the new version, so I'll remake it, but I'm not sure how long it will take.

I just successfully edited a post to add a link and italics. Having some trouble with loading pages though - the first time I previewed the edit, first time I submitted it and first time I opened the "reachmahjong.com" forum to view this thread, the pages failed to load. I had to retype the changes on the edited post twice.

The new colour does look odd after ten years of the old one! The links to article categories on the site homepage are no great loss as these were broken in the redesign already. Hopefully the extension that shows the latest posts will be compatible as that greatly improves usability.

Would be nice to have separate contact links for users again - there's only one icon under my name now. I suppose these are rarely used though.

This is Tumble (Jantora), doing his impression of a parlour staffer in a magazine advert showing their red fives.

I am also having some issues with images loading (since the redesign, before the forum update). Like when I loaded a page from my "mahjong at the movies" thread, eight of the 31 pics were broken. Took a couple of refreshes to get them all.

It's affecting both embedded attachments and user avatars, but after refreshing enough times to show them all, I don't seem to lose any so maybe they get cached somewhere and it's only a one-off error per item?

Edit: I see that the recent topics are back already btw. That's great.

The only thing I've noticed which is different is that the Reach Mahjong logo at the top now links back to the site's homepage, rather than the forum's main page. Same with the Home link in the current location under Quick Links
The section that looks like this:
Home < Board index < reachmahjong.com < reachmahjong.com

Neither of these are that major, and will just take getting used to is all. Just mentioning them in case they were unintended changes.

All in all nice work getting it all fixed up Shirluban!

Thanks for restoring the contact icons.

Is there a config setting for default spacing around uploaded images embedded in posts? I was always careful to have one blank line above and below a picture but these seem to have been lost on my old posts.

I'm still seeing the transparent Chun favicon in Chrome.

A small item I have noticed is where it says private messages. It used to say private messages (0) or private messages (1) but now it just says private messages without a number that notifies you if you have any or how many you have.

It's intentional, so I don't have to put back the links bar.

I'll check how embedded images works, it seems a bit weird.

I also see the favicon in Chrome, but not in FF nor IE.

The PM count is hidden when at 0 ; it'll be easy to make it always visible.

Yeah! Before it added one line below an embedded image and none above. (I could never remember which way round it was so had to preview.)

To get one blank row above and one below an inline pic I had to do this:

Currently it seems to remove one blank row above and one below (if any). To achieve even spacing it requires:

@or2az: The links are displayed correctly for me. Have you tried refreshing the page (Ctrl+F5)?
What browser are you using ?

I'm not sure why the forum doesn't display some images.
It finds them when I access directly to the image URL, ... and then it shows it on the page.
And please provide links instead of screencopies.

Nice, the image spacing is restored. Merci beaucoup.

I've had lots of images not loading but it's always fixed by refreshing. Sometimes takes two or three refreshes though.
